My Gangrenous Mind: #15. Day 89: First Eyeball With

On my 89th day as an infected citizen, I went to RITM again for my monthly CBC and refill of ARV's. Since I was going there alone for the first time, I thought maybe I'd take the chance to try to meet other infected people out there. What best place to get one from other than Twitterlandia. But of course I've thought of this prior already. I've already been talking with this twitter entity for week, and we've agreed to meet yesterday at RITM.

Wala akong maisip na pangalan at dahil si Sam Milby ang nasa TV ngayon, let's just call him Sam.

I met him through twitter when I stumbled upon his blog (or the other way around). Isa siyang infected health worker. Doktor siya, to be exact. So much for my first attempt, I'd say I found a pretty quality person to talk with. Sensible naman siya at very curious ako how a doctor deals with his personal issues as someone infected with HIV. Pareho pa kami ng iniinom na combination kaya feeling ko may konek agad kami. Napag agreehan namin na mag meet yesterday kasi magpaparefill siya at mag paparefill din ako at CBC.

Akala ko nga hindi matutuloy itong eyeball na ito kasi the day before we met nagreact ang Nevirapine drug sa kanya. Nagkaroon ng bonggang rashes at nilagnat ang mokong. Pero mas kailangan niya talaga pumunta para masilip siya ng doktor niya. In other words, natuloy naman ang eyeball.

Ang aga ko sa RITM. Natatae ako ng sobra habang nagdadrive pero tiniis ko kasi usapan namin 8AM andun na kami. Dumating siya mga 9:15AM na yata. I've officially had my first eyeball with a fellow pusit. Anyway, natapos naman namin ang business namin sa RITM ng matiwasay, pinalitan yung combination niya kasi nga nagreact siya sa Nevirapine. As for me naman some good news, tumaas ang RBC ko. Takot na takot pa naman ako sa anemia. Mabuti nalang at medyo above normal na ang RBC ko.

Masaya naman siya kausap, medyo tahimik, siguro kasi nilalagnat at dahil sobrang daldal ko sa totoong buhay. Kumain kami sa ATC for lunch sa isang fast food restaurant na itago nalang natin sa pangalang Shakey's. Yung spaghetti nila walang lasa. It's been a long time favorite pero di ko alam anong nangyare sa spaghetti kahapon, parang imaginary lang yung lasa niya.

Dapat sasamahan pa niya ako mag grocery pero mukhang di na niya kaya kasi nga dahil sa lagnat. In fact, I took a photo of him, medyo necrotic na nga siya dito. Sobrang pagod ata:

Ayaw pa niya pa-picture niyan ha.

Mabuti nalang din at sinabihan ko si Froy na magkita kami after lunch. So after umuwi ni Sam, nag lunch kami ulit ni Froy. Bundat ulit.

At dahil nga tumaas ang RBC ko, at first time namin ulit magkita ni Froy after such a long time, there's definitely enough reasons to celebrate.

Therefore, I decided to get one of these:

And then nag grocery na kami, trying to fulfill the long grocery list I had made the night before. Dahil Friday kahapon, it was Azithromycin day. So while doing the grocery talagang nagrerebolusyon yung tyan ko. I gave in and left Froy in the middle of the shopping spree to find the nearest rest room and do my business. Then we went back to RITM kasi nakalimutan ko bumili nung Hypo TA lotion na yun.

It was already around 5PM and it was time to go home, so I kissed Froy goodbye and drove separate ways.

As always, it's been a fruitful busy day for me. I'm glad I was able to buy myself an iPad mini, got to meet Froy after not seeing him for the longest time since makulam ako, and lastly, I got to meet a new friend, Sam.

Right now may mga itchy areas sa may sakong ng paa ko. Nakakinis kasi nagpepeklat na kakakamot ko! Hay! Next week babalik ako ulit sa derma sa RITM. If you'll be there, too, let me know. maybe we can arrange for another eyeball :)
